Nobody Likes a Toddler

A one year-old's a stupid thing, which wanders in and out
Of rooms, picking up whatever she may see. It may be
Something of great value, something fragile. She won't
Care. She'll carry it for several steps, then drop it on
The floor. Adults, afflicted by her presence, will wince
As they watch her ruin what they'd paid so much to own.
They'll mutter in her parents' absence, "What a stupid kid."
