The Greatest Show on Earth
An epic farce is taking place, and, as it does, a few of us may laugh
Until we wet ourselves. Our mulish fellow citizens will look on in
Dismay as the disaster which they couldn't see, the joke which will
Envelop them, unfolds because they're mindless people, who
Have made a stupid man their leader, and, surprise, surprise, he's
Chosen only other cretans to direct his government, and what will
Happen next? Pure chaos. All the things which everyone has
Counted on from government won't be supplied. There won't be
Money for the schools. The drugs which might have made us
Better will not be approved. We'll receive toxic substances
Instead. No one will lead the military. There will be no lawyers
To police rapacious corporations. Trains won't run. The clocks
Will stop. Those of us who saw this coming will applaud
This splendid farce. The others, poor, benighted people, forced
To be a part of it, aren't likely to see humor in the mess that they
Have made.
