Smash me please

In the mirror's cold embrace, I dwell,

A flat image, a silent shell.

No room to move, no space to breathe,

A prisoner of glass, I seethe.

My world is flat, devoid of depth,

A silent scream, a voiceless breath.

I watch the world from my glass cage,

Trapped in a timeless, endless stage.

Faces peer in, but never see,

The soul within, longing to be free.

I press against the glassy wall,

Hoping, praying, for it to fall.

The horrors of this mirrored plight,

A life of shadows, void of light.

I dream of shattering, breaking free,

To feel the world, to truly be.

Oh, if someone would smash this glass,

Release me from this mirrored mass.

To step beyond, to breathe, to live,

A second chance, a life to give.

Until that day, I wait and yearn,

For freedom's light, for glass to burn.

In the mirror's depths, I silently weep,

Hoping one day, my soul will leap.

Next time you pass,

Please break this glass.

shells
The title drew me in, I wasn’t disappointed, I feel the longing and the ending fits the piece perfectly.
