the free will
When I appeared before the court, I told the judge that he was not judging me according to the proper laws, because if I am entirely defined by my genes, governed by my instincts, and shaped by the external influences around me, then I should not be judged. I am the consequence of my actions, not the cause... I am merely the product of a materialistic world devoid of free will... Therefore, it is the laws that should be judged, and changed if you can, without punishing those who are bound by them, for they will inevitably change as the laws do. I am not supposed to possess free will or to distance myself from these laws, which form the only framework for my behavior...Poetry by Albert Vynckier
