Yin and Yang

Would the spring seem quite so sweet if bitter winter
Hadn't come? Would the silence be so welcome
If it didn't follow television's overbearing din?
Would this scent of roasting turkey tantalize
The way it does if not for days of lesser fare? It
Wouldn't, nor would I so treasure feeling you pressed
Close to me if you had not been gone.
