A Missed Opportunity
If the doctor wanted something more than more to drink,
He couldn't make that clear to me, and I could see he'd
Had enough. I took his glass and told him, though we'd
Had our fun, he ought to go. He swore at me most artfully,
But called a cab to take him home. He'd barely gone when
I regretted missing, no doubt, my one chance to lecture him
As Jesus would: "Physician, heal thyself."
