Making Something of Nothing
Significance? A thing a creature seeking to persist assigns
To other things. The tender shoots to graze upon?
Significant. Likewise, any helpless beast to catch and greedily
Consume, somewhere to shelter from the cold, a family
(At least, sometimes), a union or a government, whatever
Keeps the process going, or, conversely, threatens it,
But draw away from looking at existence as a source
Of means through which the helix keeps on screwing, to
Investigate, instead, the notion that the process, in
Itself, has some significance, and one begins to realize
It doesn't. Nothing does.
