Dear poetfriend, I want to give you
a poem like a pebbly shard of glass,
smoothed by ocean or by time,
something glittery and luminous
and blue, perhaps, with suggestions
of all the other colours in the spectrum
in gratitude for your photograph
of snowdrops after a late March rain.
