Something Is Gained

J is for Shorewood,

on the shore of Lake Michigan.

Am I jesting today?

K is for Thomas Traherne,

or perhaps for Marlon Brando
whom we remember today on the calendar.

JK is for Jane Kenyon. Or for "just kidding."

I love to music, listen the Ecuador.
Something is gained in mistranslation.

Better antic than frantic.

Potius ridere quam timere.
I would rather laugh than fear.

I would be troubadour and vassal
to badly laced sneakers
under a soaking August sun.

As Meridian I can figure out why Ecuador is used here...but the reason to use some single letters to justify Names is still out of reach for me now, I like that it has some hints that want me to know more

Equateur goes with Equal (days and nights of the same length)
Ecu is a type of money in gold there is no conversion between Europe and South America ?
is it right?
