After a walk, through an old Engelska Trädgörd with an exceptional new friend (from Germany). My imagination played with the ghosts from a time gone by. And these thoughts and shadows lingered in my mind.

Engelska Trädgörd

The sun has closed
on the English Garden
the summer breeze
has turned to chill.

...and i think of you.

I hear your sweet laughter
as you gaily promenade
through the ghostly echoes
where the shadows
dance and play.

I did not really know you
but i understood your smile
we touched the same golden moment
if but only - for a while.

The trees are stripped bare now
of all their summer green
it is Autumn
the song birds that sang on that exquisite day
are out of reach
and no where to be seen.

The sun has closed
on the English Garden
the summer rain
has turned to snow
but i will always think of you
with fondness
as i walk along my lonely dusty road.

This is my first time reading this, moments are little breaths that inspire our way, and I believe you've touched its true essence through this poem. Good job!

Beautiful. Makes me think of the song, "Autumn leaves". Only, the feeling of missing in your text is more mellow, and with a strain of hope
