This poem goes along with two others (Fall and Summer. Spring will be coming soon). I wrote this while on a 9 hour train ride from my University in Maryland to Boston, Massachusetts. Hope you enjoy!

Massachusetts in the Winter

Massachusetts in the Winter

Reflection of snow banks
Against the dull tracks
Burns bright into the distance
An agitation of my eyes
Moves to the back of my mind
A deep abrasion of the frontal lobe
Noxious fumes crawl like lice
Through my cavities-stinging
Apprehension of what is to come
Still the stinging, faster we travel
Motion after motion of forward commotion
Peeking out the window into the abyss
No longer white countryside
A silver lining on the sides of the tracks
Billboards iced over-cryogenically speaking
Slowing down, fumes lessen
Pulling in, we arrive in the dark
Eyes adjust as I look around
My new ambiance
Unknown, so foreign
Yet strangely comfortable
A world of hustle
A city of integrity
Stepping out into the cold
A gust of wind whips across my face
I feel, alive
Home.

Me like!

It gives me a nice warm cozy feeling, wintery and woolsweater-with-a-teacup- by-an-open-fire- feeling.

nice poem.
