Godspeed
These barren landsare cold and full of dust,
a continent dead,
cradled in forgetfullness.
Trees, once alive and green,
now stand eternally still,
like shadow skeletons
in the bleak desert sun.
What we shared we also lost,
you and I, at too great a cost.
I know only this: all things must end,
so Godspeed to you, my darling friend.
