As you smile


Every breath you take
a breath closer to my last
just like the flame that flickers
behind the glass
i know i have to burn
but oh! - Do i yearn
to stand still
for just a while
beneath the stars that sparkle
and dance across your eyes
to feel eternity unfold
as you smile.

This is so beautiful -
I usually try to advoid romantic poetry -
I tend to find it a bit soppy -
but this was sutle in it's approach,
big in meaning and drew me in like
the moth to the flame.
