Slumberous
Rip Van Winkle, wondrous gentFamous for his slumberous bent
He slept forty years
But now, it appears
Those slumber filled years were misspent
Too many years he bed-fully dozed
Too many years he was too indisposed
Rip napped through four-score
But will never, no more
Nap life away in a sleepy repose
From Rip, we've learned this lesson
A lesson, worth our carressin'
If we sleep life away
We'll miss life's buffet
So we won't forty years be a-restin
