Stan's Will
Shelley, Byron, Shakespeare and KeatsEnglish writers no one could beat
Until from the States came a real writing trooper
Known to the world as Stanley-of-Cooper
Stan's not a user of words such as "whence"
Nevertheless, his poems aren't dense
It wouldn't occur to him to use "thee" or "thou"
They weren't his style, at least until now
He can't write romance like Juliet and Romeo
Or pen weighty dramas as King Lear and O-tthel-eo
Yet, Stanley's rhyme-filled poetic affliction
Has proven to be a fullfilling addiction
In time he may give Will Shakespeare the shakes
And dethrone good old Will..Stan's got what it takes
Romeo and Juliet, Will's play that's so super
Will not deter Stan, Sir Stanley-of-Cooper
Stanley-O and Jeann-iette, romantic in feeling
Will claim hearts and souls, sending readers a-reeling
It's a story of love with depth so well founded
It assures Will-of Shakespeare, will forever be grounded
