A Poem Is A Poem Is A Poem
"A rose is a rose is a rose", Gertrude Stein once said
They say that was brilliant of her. Don't know why
"A rose is a rose is a rose" just came out of her head
How could any one that statement justify?
She might have said, " A poem is a poem is a poem"
That too would make me wonder
If I were to say it, I'd be off my dome
They would bury me six feet under
If my name was Gertrude, perhaps it would work
She was accepted and had adulation
If I said it, I'd be considered a jerk
Which is worse then a poor old relation
But yet, a poem is a poem, for what else can it be
Just as a rose is a rose is a rose
That a poem is a poem, you all must agree
So we can this subject now close
