This poem , is not of friends name being forgot. It's about time moving on. It is of the affect a friend had had on people and still dus. That what that friend said or did . That are talked about long after that person departed. My father offtan talked
Story's past down , words of advice , '' your dad , granddad had this friend ,
story follows , flows , entertaining the next genarastion
this friend , cant recall their name , what a friend they must have been , many
a story I herd about them , dame I wish I know the their name , come to think
cant say I know if he's a she or a he , minuet lets ask , your nan's sister, na
she cant , remember , my name half the time!! ,
'' hey watch your tonge , lad '' '' me hearing aides working , Johnny , got me
new batteries the other day!!!'' , '' now who you on about now , Dicky?'' ,
I rely hate that , she says it with a strait face , I swear each time she says
''Dicky'', her eye twitches
Dicky as in ''dicky bow tie?'' , or Dicky as in ''dick head'' , one of theses days I'll
ask the old girl , I was going to something else , knowing my luck she'd read it
man shes got a clout on her like hams so her hands are!!
now what I was saying , oh yes , got back my drift, '' can you remember the
name of that friend your sis went on so much about?'' , she thinks rattles of a
lode of names , each one she shakes her head , ''' na , Dicky I cant recall'', she
told us any way it was your dads mate , as I recall , then off she goes with yet
more stories about this old family friend or at least a friend of dad's or is it
granddad's?
a friend who's name, has slipped away.

WHEN A FAMILY FREINDS NAME SLIPS THE MEMOREY
