Angelic Chime

I chose a path, quite long ago,
that led to self deceit.
In every man I saw a foe
and solitude was sweet.

Alone I wandered through my youth
and nurtured hopes of love.
As I grew old I learned the truth:
I am a fragile dove.

My soul's not made for this bare earth
that kindly lent it time.
The symphony of its unworth
is an angelic chime.

This speaks of thoughts that I've had myself. I like this. There's a hope within that just seems to fall short. Ideal ideas that we start out with that just don't pan out.

The whole tone of this poem is catured in the first stanza. Pangs of loneliness expressed very eloquently. No man is an island...

Well writen, has a nice flow to it.
