SCRUMPING!!!!

This time of the year a very British tradition takes place

We call it scrumping , gathering wild fruit

Apples , pairs , cherry's , plumes

Children with mum can be seen , climbing upon

Walls to reach the heavily waited down branches

Or children shinning up trees where the fruit is higher

When all the lower down fruit already gathered in

As a child I went scrumping , now as a man I still do

When I was a child with my mates , we'd go over walls

In to gardens , raid the trees , oh what fun we had

Some times the pepole in the houses herd us came out

Chased us away , we'd byde our time , raide againe

Now I look for wild trees growing free , so many I find

Most healthy eating time of year.

Long live tradition I say!!

Well, I'd never heard of scrumping, either!! Sounds fun. :)

Hehehe . . . I did it last day, apples,
apples, apples and made a wonderful
applecake!!! And I love blueberries,
when I was younger my grand dad
fruitfarm and me and my sister was
always hanging in the trees eating
cherries, apples, plums and pairs!!

That is a wonderful memory I have
from my childhood and you express
it so well here Ken!!!
