SANDY

A few weeks or was it months before I was born ,

My mum and dad saved a dog from certain death,

Some neighbors were goner have their dog put down,

Mum and dad , said '' NO'' , ''we'll take Sandy off you'',

''We'll give him a home'',

Mum were pregnant with me at the time,

They took Sandy home with them , fed him , walked him,

He became a part of the family ,

Sandy was what we call a mongrel , of no bread as such,

Sandy in colour , long haired , a brush of a tail,

When mum went in to laborer with me , she went

To hospital , Sandy got worried , kept barking , and howling,

So dad took Sandy to the hospital , so he , Sandy could see,
''
Me mum , showed Sandy me , a baby in her arms , at the window,

Sandy was happy , his human woman was safe , safely delivde of

A baby , bonded with the pup , took his new responsibility up,

Thear and then,

My sisters duly arrived , Sandy , lay down close to us , any one came

Near he'd bark , saying '' I'm on guard hear'' , '' so watch it!'' ,

'' you hear me?!''

I remember , as we got older , mum or dad would send us to near by shop,

Sandy would go with us , a few steps in front , as we approached a busy

road ,

He'd stop , bark once , telling us to halt! , we halted, till the roade was free of

cars , then Sandy , would bark once more to say , '' OK!'' , '' we can cross'' ,

''road clear and safe'' , over we'd go , do the shopping , then back we'd go,

Sandy like a sheep dog , shepherding us back home!

Then one day we came home from school , we asked '' wears Sandy?'',

Dad were up set , did not know what to say or how to say it,

''Sandy '' , ''he's dead'' , '' he had a cold'' , ''so sorry'',

As children , death , we had no idea , of what it meant ,

Sandy had gone , no longer there , gone, out of our life's ,

Eaven now I miss him , our protector , our friend as much

Our uncle , one of us.

The bond must have been so great because you knew him from birth. I was so sad when my first dog died. It broke my heart. Just think of how your parents gave that dog such a good life and he gave you all so much enjoyment. Nice story Ken.

This is perhaps one of the most amazing pieces I have ever seen! So real, that I held my breath until you said the words of Sandy's death.

I said it again like Jericho said, Ken
you are a wonderful story teller I
love your work with this text and
i remember my last dog My who
always was with me and was always
walking released. From the moment
that she was a puppy I chose the
puppy that yell most . . . she was a
lively dog when she grows up, what
a wonderful dog she was. I can never
forget her last days in life when she
struggles with cramp and could not
mowe. So I have to decide to go with
MY to the Doctor with her . . . they
tell me there was nothing to do and
it should end up that she die in cramp
so with tears in my eyes i decide that
the best thing was that My ends her
days this day. . .

So rest in peace my beloved dog
you was my best frien for 13,5 year
sleep tight my beloved MY se you in
heaven, Dan
