SOOTY - THE BLACK BIRD
Now sooty the black beard , had a good relationshipWith me old dad , digging , sooty eating the worms
Woe betide dad fulling down on the job
As one day went in to have a well deserved cup of tea
Dad took his time did not rush to get back to digging up sooty's brunch
Sooty knocked at the back door , just a few taps at first
Still dad remained reading the paper , taking his time supping his tea ,
As sooty grew impatient , and hungry , the harder Sooty taped ,
Till dad wondered just what were going on , who was taping at the back
Door,
So up out of the chair got dad , saw no one thro the window '' tap, tap''
He herd as clearly as you like,
He , dad , annoyed , opened the door , no one there at all, saw sooty sat a
Top the spade , looking accusingly at dad
Dad thought no more , muttering back to his cup of tea and paper reading
Tap , tap TAP TAP, Sooty taped , again out dad went a bit angry now , still
No site of anybody there only the sound of TAP TAP
Dad noticed his spade were free of Sooty ,
The tap taping now a crashando of noise
Dad look down and what did he see , yes Sooty tap taping on the door ,
So out went dad , Sooty , flew to the fence while dad got back to work,
Digging up more tit bits for Sooty!!!!!
Every year Sooty with his mate, Silky show of there latest brew
And show 'em wear the eating were easy!!!
