Letter to Theresa
I heard your name
On the radio this morning
Oh, have they heard about our adventures
In nostalgic rhythm
Like when I tell our stories
'Cause Paris is lonely
And the smiles are no longer glowing
Without you
But words are heavier
Than your footsteps in the snow
Do you remember Alaska
And the wild animals
That laughed at your shoes
While we were making love
I know that
The world doesn't have arms
To embrace every single word
But your kisses are still stuck
On my pale cheeks
Just like your snowangels
In the Siberian mountains
Memories are now cut out
And are floating about
So I write
For future purposes
As your sweet scent
Slowly trickles out of the narrows
I don't mourn
I only write to say
Goodbye
