About nostalgia, longing and dreams...
LIKE A LIGHTHOUSE TO ME
there is a lovely tune
about ships in the night
in these dark waters
lonely lads need a light
stars shining down on me
from the blue velvet skies
can't give me what i need
and can' t shine like your eyes
you' ll always be
like a lighthouse to me
a distant dream
but the key that sets me free
reality
isn't what it used to be
you guided me
and you changed the scenery
life on the swedish shores
can be lonely and cold
this is where i was born
this is where i' ll grow old
i love it 'cause i know
beneath ashes there is glow
and for every broken dream
there's a rose in the snow
two teen boys drinking tea
my mate patrik and me
we shared our fantasies
and created memories
the paintings that we painted
can never fade away
though we both fade to grey
in a world of decay
there used to be a time
when the canvas was white
when each song that we sang
was flash in the night
two dreamers in the jet age
with eyes open wide
we've found a new adventure
and new waves to ride
