Lasso the Moon

Reporting in, Houston
We have the moon in tow
How the world will be surprised
When they see and finally know

That we wrapped a lasso
Around the moon itself
And dragged it back with us
Without anyone else's help

The moon will sure look bright
We shall be heroes tonight
Because we have the moon in flight
And took it without a fight

The moon is ours to keep
And all others may simply weep
But know that we took the moon
And you shall see it very soon

I dedicate this mission to my wife
She stood by my side my our entire Life
I went and got the moon for her
I hope her broken heart it will cure

Reporting, Houston, we have a problem
The lasso, it cannot take the strain
It is tearing, snapping into two
As the lasso tears, my heart feels pain

We've lost the moon, Houston
And no greater sorrow has ever been felt
By my crew or I, Houston
Us cowboys from the outer belt

Signing off, we're coming home
With no moon in tow
No one shall see it
So don't let them know
