It's Time She Said...

As the world opened its ugly mouth
She had hung her pictures in the sky for all to see
Her desires had burned in the flame
Her passing would be noticed that she knew
But what of her memories
Who would care for them
What price had she paid to strip back the veneer
Would the black teeth that pierced her heart offer respite
The view from here was dizzy
And she would fall
But what a fall
Colliding into reality
Breaking every chain
How a place is found for the unspoken words
Old friends line her path
The harshness is suspended
She had finally arrived
And to what purpose
Like a fledgling on the wing for the first time
To embrace the uncertainty
To revel in the crossing
To be free.

It's time she said.
