A STORY OF THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR

It seams only fair to confess I'm black ,

And yes , proud to be , ''black ''

From Kenya , my ancestors came from ,

Tho to you I'm what you'd call

''white '' ,

My pigment , some what diluted ,

My hair , strait , kind off ,

How I wish it was curly , like my family

From Kenya is ,

I have to confess , a believer in a God ,

Any God or God's , I aint ,

Saw thro that lie , many years ago ,

I'm a humanist ( agnostic ) ,

A believer in humanity , in yours , and

Mine ,

So when I hear or read of raicesim ,

I kinder have to come out of the closet ,

Take a stand , 'cos them racist attack me

And my family , my friend's ,

My some of my family were slaves ,

Some in the west Indies , others , in

America ,

They were freed , some , in the 1860's ,

Members of my family , joined ,

The Fivety-fourth Massachusetts Coloured Regiment ,

Led by Colonel Robert Gould Shaw ,

Family members died beside Shaw ,

Rolled , tumbling in to a pit of the dead ,

Shaw among them , his mum in a letter said ,

''I'm so proud my son lays with such brave men''

As am I so proud my family fault to be free and

Died in Dixie.

above , is but a story ,

Below is between the lines;

I just had too confess, I'm happen to be , ivory ,

Yet , brown ,

Yet , yellow ,

Yet , red ,

yet , albino ,

In short , I am YOU!
