Belief

Today, the heart ached,
For the thought of you have come.
Clearing the dirt from the memories,
Lived again the days long forgotten.

Sleep has still kept me at bay,
Such is the state of my nervousness.
Night's cool air blowing against my face,
Reminds me of your raven hair's playfulness.

Long gone are the days of merriment,
Now, same days precede the same painful nights.
You still remain, though there are spaces between us,
Breaths are still there, though life has taken flight.

Now, if you somehow meet me,
I have that much belief,
A smile will come across my face,
And I will not grieve.
