What is love for?
Whether love is some self-inflicted torture
of some kind or morbid illness,
I don't care, since love inevitably
simply has to be and have its constant outlet
in whatever way. The commonest of ways is sex,
which certainly has its advantages and disadvantages –
you get released and can experience some fulfilment,
while it puts demands and strains on close relationships.
A safer way is art, to simply let your love pour out
in glorious abstract creativity,
which actually could only have advantages,
while at the same time it does not exclude
relationships and other forms of love;
while others channel love into religion,
thus exalting it to a more universal level,
which of course does not exclude whatever other level.
In brief, all love is good and irresistible,
so just indulge in it, for that is what it's for.
