The Beggar Monk
The beggar monk is a pauper
by his own choice and profession
demonstrating constantly the virtue of poverty
and its definite advantages of freedom
and the liberating and direct contact with nature
and immediate close touch with all reality.
He may go barefoot without shoes or sandals
in close perfect touch with solid ground
in garments of most basic frugal nature,
just for the concealment of his vital parts
and demonstrate his definite humility
as something of a natural philosopher
living in most perfect harmony and unity with nature,
like a fool and clown but of a metaphysical and higher order
which is more untouchable and sacred
than the holiest most established orders of this earth.
