A Poem for Lars and Anita

Her Elegance

It is an illusive thing ....
This thing we call "her elegance"
She wears it well ....... as though
She doesn't even know
It rests inside her eyes
And in her poses ....when she smiles at us so......

There is no price, you know,
From coins she tries to save:
The price of it ...... is paid
From a God who channels light from stars
Before they burn away
And sprinkles it to souls like her
Enraptured by His Glow I rarely ever catch....

In those quiet times of day
Before the meal and tea are served
Before her eyes begin to caste a glance
Of the lyrics of her song that live inside her soul,
I pretend -- through the routine of my work --
That I have better things to do than to watch her
As she moves

...It is an illusive thing
This thing we call her elegance
She wears it well ....as though
She doesn't even know
It rests inside her eyes
And in her poses ....when she smiles at us so.
