AS WE SAT IN THE CAR ON PICKET! WITH: THEN THEY CAME FOR THE...
We , my mate and me sat in the car ,Out side the pit shop ,
There were a knock on the door ,
I look out to see a cop ,
He offered us some coffee , sandwiches ,
''I've got tea , something to eat''
I looked to me mate ,
'' you ok , Pikey? '' ,
'' Yea , Ken'' , I'm , fine''
''No , thank you , we're ok'' , I confirmed ,
The cop look rather surprised at our ,
Reaction too his offer of sustenance,
Our acct of defiance ,
You see we were striking miners on picket,
And had been for month's , in '84.

THEY CAME FOR THE SHIP BUILDERS THEN THEY CAME FOR....
Fierst they came for the Trade unionist ,
Who built the great ships on the Clyde ,
I spoke out , I marched for them ,
Donated money so theird not go hungry ,
Then they came for the woman in who stitched ,
Then THEY came fer the building workers , I marched again ,
Then THEY came for the steel workers , I marched yet again ,
Put t some up, fed them ,
One of whom was a member of the National Front ,
Too throw him out was my first thought ,
But that I could not do ,
I educated the lad instead,
Showed him some books ,
Teached him , that fascism comes first for the likes ,
Of him and his mate , puts them in camps ,
He saw how he was being conde ,
That he'd share a prison cell , and the death ,
with those he blamed , the emigrants,
He saw the error of his ways ,
Then they came fore me , in the mines,
I went on strike a whole long year I endured ,
We were smashed , but at least we went down , fighting ,
Now the old U K , now de-industrialised , now , the unions ,
Are now cast in to history ,
Now what did you do? Now what can you do?
