AT THE SEA SIDE

Dad snoozing the deckchair ,

Hanky knotted at each corner ,

Trousers rolled up to knees ,

Brasses in place ,

Shirt unbutoonde too chest , reveling

Dads string vest ,

Dads, chest showing lobster red spots ,

Mum paddling , skirt hitched up ,

Kids running in the sea , screaming in delight ,

Mums kiss me quick hat in place ,

Kids builds sandcastles ,

Paper flags decorates the castles towers ,

Dad wakes up '' who's for fish and chips?''

''me '' , ''me'', ''and don't forget me'' ,

The family in unison shout ,

In glee , they all troop too the chippy close bye ,

Cod , rig , sausage , gherkin , all with chips ,

A dollop tomato ketch up , salt and vinegar ,

Cans of 7 up , coke , tizer , nice cup of tea ,

Fore mum and dad ,

After lunch back too the beech ,

Back in too the sea ,

Mum and dad back too sleep in the deckchairs.

Oh too be beside the sea side.

Ken...what's wonderful about this poem of yours is that it
is so very universal....It brought back all sorts of wonderful
sea side memories to me, as I'm sure it did for all it's readers...

Ken, this is one of your best

I love to have fish and chips by the sea. I had fun reading your poem.

Or might this be the Side Sea, for the dyslexic poet?
