THE MIRROR

I stand looking in to the mirror ,

I see a face , looks familiar ,

Ingrained with lines ,

Imperfections , so many , to many ,

Words written , storeys fore the telling ,

Some funny , some sad , pathos ,

Dreams dreamt , expertnesses experienced ,

Achievements , achieved , well a few ,

Loves found , loves lost ,

Friendships , some still with me , many are not ,

Storms came , blowing many a way , faire weather ,

Tumble weed ,

The few left , like ivy , clung on , fowl weather ,

Of those past on , reaped in , living on in memory ,

My face , looking back with my life written on every line.

Between the lines more maybe read

That is so good, that last line is the pinnacle - and one we should be proud of, not ignore, a face devoid of character shows nothing, our lines, our imperfections - you touched a chord here with me

Enjoyed this "reflection" (!); I can't help but notice that if the last line said "in every line" (instead of "on evey line") it would have a neat double meaning.

A most enjoyable read ken, we are poets in the making of what ever our reflection shows to us.

Well done to stan and Don for pushing your button.

Smiling at you, wishing you a highly inspired weekend,
