Tuning In

It's not enough to listen,
Nor to merely hear
The magic of a melody
Holds more than what is clear

Some move you physically
Irresistable the beat
Making you sway soulfully
Or madly tap your feet

Then there are the lyrics
Moving you in other ways
Words to fill you with nostalgia
Bringing back forgotten days

A language universal
Through tender love or strife
Our songs all lie within us,
And music itself, is life

and the real music itself slips and oozes from the words of the artists like you. The beats of the music are actually the beats of our emotions. very nice write!

I think without music.Life would be but a bore!so true how a song can bring back a memory you once forgotten.Music lifts us when down.Music is a part of life.LIke you said,Music is universal and speaks volumes when at times, only in music we understand..

nice to read you

You've got my vote. Music appeals to so many parts of us and our lives. I can't imagine my life without all the great symptoms songs and musics have provoked :-)
Thank you for this much enjoyed poem

Fine poem. One wonders what the world would be like without music.
