The ice cracked

Faces and fate contort
into a never ending spiral of hidden truths
as dreams kept afloat by the rusting hulk of memories
drift on an ocean of unforgiving days
locked in time, frozen
but what splendour to once again hear the songbirds sing
no longer submissive to the brooding arches of the mind
time for the heart to soar where the eagles dare to fly
high above the gravity of life's withering embrace
there tentatively forgotten buds of hope bloom
as the ice cracks to release winter's laden thoughts
into the arms of spring.

Great poem about 'spring feelings'. Made its way through the words to my heart without being pushy at all, and that's something I really appreciate!
