Mummy's Mad!
Here I am again with a bee in my bonnet
So I will turn my whine into a sonnet
Employment for some may be an enigma
But for me I'm fed up with the single mum stigma
Some of us don't choose to be on the skids
The sad fact is some men walk out on their kids
We are treated like lower forms of life
Because some "men" don't respect a wife
Welfare was all we had to get by
While I scoured for work, determined to try
When I couldn't find work I made a job of my own
I didn't just sit and take cheques and moan
Then I see free birth control on the news
As an extra option in Centerlink queues
I was stinking mad, I threw a fit
Don't people know we don't ask for this shit?
Who are they to point the finger at me?
I didn't have kids to get money for free
It's shutting the gate after the horse has bolted
So here I sit here frustrated, feeling insulted
Yes there are some that wrought the system
But what of us triers? Guess somebody missed them
It's discrimination just like creed or colour..
I'm not a parent at the cost of another!
