Bit of an experiment this one. Needs to be read with a slow pace. This is the closest i can get to describing an extraordinary moment in my life.
I hear a butterfly's wings beat
in a far off distant land
I drink from your lips
my world begins to melt
and your eyes
your eyes - i can not refuse
I move my hand close to your cheek
never touching your skin
only caressing the perfumed air
yet the electricity still begins
we are standing on the edge of life - two souls
through the reach of time having travelled so far
we slip beneath the crystal surface
as the French man plays his guitar
sun blazing in fire-gold hair
a symphony of heart beats
and still your eyes
your eyes - i can not refuse
we are connected
but not in this world
touched so deeply
memories of a future that never had a past
I know you paint butterfly wings
and teach the nightingale to sing
I have seen you cry the morning dew
I shiver as ice cuts reality
and still your eyes
your eyes - i can not refuse
suspended beneath the stars
embraced by the emptiness of space
a champagne crescendo igniting every nerve
and so we danced
until the moonlight bid farewell
and the French man laid down his guitar.
