it's a mystery to me...
Placed on the pile kept to one side that
Grows ever taller as the North wind blows.
No longer twinned or together
You are alone, single and unmatched.
Where is your mate? Your other half?
Why suddenly so mysteriously solitary?
I begin to think it is deliberate this insistence
Of becoming divorced and bereft and useless.
You know you cannot function without your
Darby to your Joan but you let them go without
A backwards glance or any explanation.
So you are left without your right or maybe
Right without your left...who knows?
Interchangeable things need the other part
To change with...but not you! Oh no not you
You just let your partner disappear into a
Black hole swallowed up whole into another
Dimension without a backwards glance.
So you are on the one side piled...
You are a very naughty sock!

Single
So there is only one of you once morePlaced on the pile kept to one side that
Grows ever taller as the North wind blows.
