a little off kilter

Cheek

When I last
Checked my cheek
My jaw had something
To say.

It all came out
Quite plaid ...
Happily not sad
In fact it seems
Full gingham.

I think my cheek
Is grinning.

Gingham starched is in my memory banks, as are sunny meadows and first kiss.... but gingham check not cheek.
Check it out to get the cheque ,,,cheeky?

Original and charming. I like the juxtaposition of check and cheek and the near-rhyme of gingham and grinning, & the fabric analogy.
