Taller
How do I respond? My tongue is too complicated with my given
Supposed arrogance allegedly...
But also my vocabulary and
My philosophies... my philosophies...
These bewilder you as you accuse me
Of being on this easy street with neat feet!
You say I am aristocratic and unfeeling...
Above everthing and superior.
How do I explain?
I'm older now and tolerant of youth
I have no wealth but my knowledge
Of my dictionaries of life and my beloved
Philosophies... my philosophies
That warm me with withered full loves that
Place me on this happy street with steps
I dance full measures to.
Knowing I am the same as you
Just as naked and vulnerable.
I know I disturb you and you do
Not like me for that but I have this reason.
My complicated tongue and vocabulary and my
Simple philosophy will one day bring you to season
The full measure of yourself and you will walk away
Feeling taller...and I will not be smaller.
