Words Alone
Soon comes the beauty of solitudeShying me to whispered sweet nothing.
Send the pale horse and jodphurs so
I might ride toward my army of silence.
Let me langour... let me lounge
Lick wounds so pitifully unused.
Soon allow me to be well bemused
And awfully silent.
Let me be compliant in my own way.
Do not demand I speak...
Words ever fall
Like leaves do.
Just like you and me.
You forever intrude my lovely fellow
Poets... with words that silently intrigue
And distract and beautifully exact
All we need to say
With this love we all have
For words alone.
Then I write.
