Sometimes the silences scare...
Stare right back with vengances
Quite thrilling enough
To strike me dumb.

Then other times
The silences keep me sane.

Silence is certainly a mixed bag. If you don't have it and want it, life is hell! If you have it and don't want it, life is hell. To break an uneasy silence can be painful.
...but sometimes silence is the best therapy. (So I'll just silence meself)
