i loved learning about buddhism in religious at school, so i thought this summed up the eightfold path quite well.
easier said than to do.
but with some effort i'll pass the test,
and then i'll conquer all the rest.
second then, intention to be right.
not to quarrel, hurt, or fight.
this is tricky, i must admit.
but im going to get there, bit by bit.
third after that, right speech.
no opinions to shout, or views to screech.
if i try, and do this alone
i'll move to the fourth stepping stone.
the fourth one is action to be correct.
no arguing, harming, ache or neglect.
this will be hard, but nonetheless
i'll do this, and then i'll suffer less.
fifth to come, right livelihood.
living like good people would.
this will feel wierd, and odd, and strange,
but i will beat this; i will change.
then the sixth, effort to be true.
do everything as hard as its possible to.
i'll find this difficult, of that im sure,
but this is my medicine; this is my cure.
seventh now, right mindfulness.
be kind and give, be gentle and caress.
this may take some time, but once it has passed,
i know i can move on to the last.
the eighth and final, to concentrate.
once i've done this, my bliss will await.
i've completed the path and i'm all fresh and new.
if may seem confusing, but it's there to help you.
