How I Feel For You
The sun does not need to shineFor me to feel the way I do
It more than helps pass time
When I simply think of you
As if perfect by design
I know you feel this too
To say happy does not express
The joy inside I feel
Everyday is like a test
To make sure it all is real
There is nothing left to guess
I am one, you the other wheel
And now the sun shines bright
Your white smile reflects the sky
When I say Us it feels right
I cannot explain just why
The sunny day is not quite
As bright as you and I
The long walk we take
On such a warm spring day
Footprints left in our wake
For a temporary stay
Right now I feel no break
Could ever push you away
I turn you towards me
I stare into your eyes
It is clear for me to see
Why you are such a prize
When I kiss you tenderly
It still feels like a surprise
The smell of spring is sweet
When chilled air comes to meet
I am warmed by your close heat
How Us seems like such a feat
*This poem was once left incomplete
And now the ending's not so sweet
Because the smell of spring is gone
And your tender hand I miss
In spite of all my brawn
I admit that I felt bliss
How I feel like such a pawn
Because I feel you are amiss
The memories I love
Those feelings still hold true
What I'm afraid to speak of
Is that I always knew
But the reality thereof
Is that I never had a clue
