Iguana

The arboreal iguana
Is the lizard primadonna
A fascinating creature
With fascinating features

These herbivorous lizards
Are tree climbing wizards
From branches high, they stare down at us
With haughty arrogance, glare down at us

Their lizard bodily designs
Display large and crested spines
Though rarely ever perky
Their movements appear quite jerky

Throwbacks from the past
They leave tourists all aghast
Gourmet natives claim they're delicious
And most healthfully nutritious

But you'll never find yours truly ever lunching
Or never ever nibbling or even munching
I forth-rightfully now reveal
In no way are iguanas my kind of meal

Iguanas on the mind. 'Tis the season. I guess.

Kudos to Don. He has been your companion in poetic crime without due credit. You two are the Butch and Sundance of pbay.
