Those Who Often Hurt Us

it is often those who hurt us
that make us toss and turn
they bring us to the fire
give us what we learn

a friend can be an ally
they can tell us what to heed
but the one who often hurts us
can give us what we need

they leave scars and then they laugh
tear our hearts and walk away
their faces show brutality
with every word they say

but these trials they have a blessing
that no “friend” could ever make
for without those who often hurt us
from darkness we might never wake

Those who hert us oftan leve scars that offtan throb with pain. That sometimes fester never fully heals. Some claime too be our closest freind . that we are their closest friend. But that hurt is still painful.

As this seems to say, there is always something to be learned from those who hurt us, generally about ourselves, i.e. how we come to terms with it.

Morpheus
This can be so true. Those who have hurt us the most also teach us how to withdraw into ourselves, and quite often we develop a lot of inner strength.

I love the simplicity of your poems' punctuation and capitalization. That allows the reader to dig into the raw emotion and truth.

Applauds to you.
