Face long , chiselled , shaped in time ,

Never asked why people come ,

As I recall, all the faces are looking out to sea . . . still watching the departure of those who made them? . . . still waiting for their return? . . . as your countryman once said (though he was referring to Russia as I recall) "a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma".
