SUMMER DRAWING TO A CLOCE

Apples , pares , cherry's , plums , and peaches too ,

Hanging from trees invitingly ,

Days growing shorter by the hour ,

Autumn just around the corner ,

Summer soon to be a memory ,

Enjoy the days remaining

Dear writing friend,
What a fitting tribute to days gone by. It has been an interesting season and I do note the shortening of the days to which you refer.
Yet Autumn bears a wealth of promise, which you capture very well here. As always, a lovely honest piece. Thank you :>)

shells
I enjoyed this seasonal read, I found it comforting and reassuring somehow, the cycle of life goes on.

. . . and the peaches. There is an orchard not too far from me and their country store is such an abundance of good things this time of year. In early summer a robin made a nest just outside my door and eventually there were two new robins . . . then a dove took over the nest and now there is a new dove. I am always reminded of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 this time of year - "to everything there is a season". Indeed, "enjoy the days remaining".

The end of summer, yes Ken, it is upon us. Your first line immediately brought to mind the song A Soalin:

"Soal, a soal, a soal cake, please good missus a soul cake.
An apple, a pear, a plum, a cherry,
Any good thing to make us all merry,
One for Peter, two for Paul, three for Him who made us all."

Everyone loves fall, but these end of summer days are precious. So few they can be counted.
