oh i just love how we are romanced :)

A Velvet Divorce

These fluttering hands cannot grasp
The ashes of the roses before they are
Swept away into oceans of loss and despair...
Waving away young futures forever.

Soon these then still hands will measure
The regretful deaths in repose and declare with
An attempted insouciant air how they considered
There are those and such as those
Of no matter.

Are we now all to become velvet
As we are tossed into the gutter
By those and such as those?

Excellent opening stanza and I just love the word insouciant in the second and the question of the final stanza, so you could say....I like this!
