Memory Lane

Walking along familiar streets
the everyday route
of the present now

another now
down memory lane
blurs my eyes to double vision

The man in front of me
shadows the one
distant in space
close to heart

Reality becomes relativity

He says Good to see you
and I smile
as if I were there

This is beautiful! It reminds me of a few nights ago when I was walking down the street where my Nanna used to live, where I spent many days of my childhood. The street's exactly how I remember it, yet it's so different! The change of faces, the change of attitudes ... It's all such a shame! When I used to sit on the street's balcony, and wave at the elderly couple across the road, all that's left of them is there house, and in there replacement a group of teenagers, who spend there days drinking and smoking until they become lost in there own reality. I wish it would all just go back to the way it was!

Simple, and yet, poetically strong! Like being invited for mental tea.

Very nice, Gunnel.

Exactly how I feel when I go back to my hometown and walk down the street I grew up on. "Reality becomes relativity" indeed. Nicely (and truly) done.
